EQAO is responsible for
overseeing Ontario’s provincial assessment program. EQAO’s provincial tests assess students’ literacy (reading and writing) and numeracy (mathematics) knowledge and skills at key points in students’ kindergarten to Grade 12 education.

Interested in National and International Assessments?
EQAO coordinates Ontario’s participation in national and international assessments on behalf of the provincial government. Those assessments are developed and administered by external organizations and provide a benchmark of Ontario students’ learning in relation to that of students in other education systems and jurisdictions, both nationally and internationally.
